Description
QSFP28-100G-SR4 is a four channel parallel, short distance transmission 100G optical module designed specifically for high-density, high-speed interconnect applications within data centers. It complies with the 100GBASE-SR4 standard and utilizes multimode fiber to achieve maximum transmission of 100 meters.
The module uses four independent 25G channels to work in parallel, each with a speed of 25.78 Gbps. Four channels are aggregated to achieve high-speed transmission of 100G. The transmitting end uses four 850nm VCSEL laser arrays, and the receiving end uses a PIN photodetector array
QSFP28-100G-SR4 adopts MPO-12 (MTP) interface and is connected through 12 core multimode fiber jumpers. Among them, 4 cores are used for transmission (TX), 4 cores are used for reception (RX), and the middle 4 cores are idle. Therefore, MPO cross fiber patch cords (Type B polarity) must be used for proper pairing of transmission and reception during connection
QSFP28 packaging is currently the mainstream choice for 100G networks. Compared to early CFP packaging, it has a smaller volume and higher port density. The typical power consumption is less than 2.5W, and some optimized models can be as low as 2W or less. It can support up to 36 ports on a 1RU switch, greatly saving rack space and energy costs
